One item ticked 'No' (item 5). The Parish Council endeavours to follow a strict regime of internal controls including cashflow forecasts, monthly checks of bank reconciliations, dual authorisation of payments and robust insurance, etc. However, the internal auditor was obliged to tick 'No' for box 5 because in the financial year to 31 March 2023 the council did not formally review its risk register document.

Precept
The Precept is the element of your Council Tax that is paid to Kirkby Mallory, Peckleton and Stapleton Parish Council.
Every year, before the end of January, the Parish Council draws up budgets and calculates how much money it needs for the next Financial Year (1/4-31/3). These are then submitted to Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council. HBBC co-ordinate the other demands from Leicestershire County Council, Leicestershire Police, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service and themselves and come up with the rate to be paid from 1st April that year.
For the year 2025-2026 the Parish Council has set a precept of £43,118.
This is a 0.3% increase and equates to £88.07 on an annual Band D council tax bill.
